Founded by Jesse Cole in 2016, the Savannah Bananas revolutionized baseball with their unique and captivating shows, known as Banana Ball. Savannah Bananas Baseball is more than just a game; it’s an experience where the thrills of Broadway meet the classic charm of Fenway. By blending entertainment with the sport, they’ve turned each game into an unforgettable experience, leaving fans eager for more and always surprised by what’s next on the field.
Here’s why Savannah Bananas Baseball at the Historic Grayson Stadium is your next must-see event:
Nonstop Action:
From even before the first pitch until even after the clock has run out, the excitement never stops. With a strict two-hour game limit, you’re guaranteed a fast-paced, thrilling experience from start to finish. A family-friendly atmosphere promises an evening or afternoon of fun that everyone can enjoy. The enthusiastic staff ensures that even the youngest fans are entertained from the moment they step into the stadium. They’re more than just friendly—they’re part of the show! Expect high-energy interactions that keep the crowd buzzing with excitement.
And the rules of Banana Ball are a bit unorthodox by MLB standards. They are as such:
Scoring:
- The team with the most runs in an inning earns one point, except in the final inning when every run counts. The team with the highest points wins.
Time Limit:
- Games have a two-hour limit. No new innings start after 1.5 hours unless the game is tied.
Stepping Out:
- If a batter steps out of the batter’s box, it counts as a strike.
Bunting:
- Bunting is prohibited. Batters who bunt are ejected from the game.
Walks:
- A walk turns into a sprint; the batter must run around the bases as quickly as possible.
Defensive Play:
- Every defensive player must touch the ball before tagging a runner out.
Stealing First Base:
- Batters can steal first base on any pitch during their at-bat.
Fan Interaction:
- Fans catching a foul ball result in an out.
Audience Engagement:
Savannah Bananas baseball games are more than just sporting events; they’re immersive experiences that actively involve the audience. Catch Dakota “Stilts” Albritton, the only baseball pitcher ever on stilts, as he meets and greets fans in the stands from 20 feet above. Expect spontaneous treats like balls and donuts being thrown into the stands, and don’t miss the chance to snap a photo with your favorite players. Players from both teams are always ready to strike a pose and share a smile. Not to mention, Split, the ever-photogenic team mascot, whose perma-grin and sunglasses make for memorable shots. But, don’t be deceived by his big smile – Split is as mischievous as they come.

Dancing:
Our players and staff routinely break into dance, adding a lively, Broadway-like flair to the game. Known as the team of the TikTok era, the team has over six million followers. Their YouTube channel has Video snippets of their performances are more than viral, they’ve gone international. The Aussie Drop Bears came all of the way from the Land Down Under to play!
