Local Leaders Perform Stand-Up Comedy And Raise Cash for Kids
Performance Initiatives is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth by using athletics and fitness. PI’s mission is to inspire and implement principles in programs that will enrich the lives of others physically, psychologically, and spiritually. Stand Up for Kids will benefit Savannah’s at-risk-youth turned both academic and weightlifting champions at PI or Performance Initiatives. The campaign entails five local Savannah celebrities participating in an eight week fundraising competition that will culminate with a fun evening in which each celebrity comic will perform in a short stand up comedy routine or a comedy sketch with one of PI’s child champions.
The event will take place on September 24th as local funny folks Maureen Mcfadden, Nick Deffley, Christopher Pugh and Paul Meyer will be putting it all on the line with a stand up routine/skit for at-risk youth in our community. Currently, they are running campaigns to raise the most funds and win the “Crack Up Crown” at this one-of-a-kind event. Tickets are $40 per person for an evening of fun, laughter and philanthropy. The event will be located at 1108 Bull Street in the Ballroom of The American Legion.
