17 restored Revolutionary War-era cannons and other artifacts will be on display in Savannah History Museum’s new landmark exhibition, Loyalists & Liberty: Savannah in the American Revolution.
Join Coastal Heritage Society on July 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. for the exhibit’s Opening Reception. Be among the first experience the exhibit and view some delicate objects that are too sensitive to remain on display permanently. Light refreshments will be provided. Admission: $12 per person. Loyalists & Liberty: Savannah in the American Revolution will feature 17 newly restored cannons, two cannons displayed in their original found condition, three anchor fragments, and other incredible objects recovered from the Savannah River near Old Fort Jackson in 2021-22. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, this landmark exhibit will present narratives more reflective of diverse participation, highlight Georgia’s role in the Revolution, and expand on naval stories.
