Old Town Trolley’s Holiday Sights and Festive Nights Tour

The 2025 Holiday Season heralds the return of the 28th Annual Old Town Trolley’s Holiday Sights and Festive Nights Tour. For a feel-good holiday romp through Savannah you’ll never forget, celebrate with us on Old Town Trolley’s Holiday Sights and Festive Nights Tour! Conductors will entertain with caroling and tales of Savannah’s favorite holiday traditions as they drive by historic homes and squares. The tour includes a stop at the American Prohibition Museum where you’ll step right back in time and into a Prohibition Era speakeasy to learn about how the holidays were celebrated in the 1920s from costumed docents. You’ll enjoy complimentary non-alcoholic punch bowls and a treat as well as authentic winter cocktails available to purchase. Our second stop on the tour, The Plant Riverside District, is a truly magical winter wonderland, where guests can say hello to St. Nick himself and visit Savannah’s newest River Street attraction.

Christmas Market at Plant Riverside
Discover the magic and festivity of a traditional Salzburg Christmas Market brought to life at Plant Riverside Savannah’s Entertainment District. The #1 holiday market in the Southeast! Kick off this joyous event on November 20, by taking a stroll through the European-style Christmas market and basking in the glow of lights at the Tree Lighting Ceremony. The celebrations continue to December 31, with live music and performances, children’s activities, photos with Santa Claus, the Savannah Harbor Boat Parade of Lights and more. Bring the whole family and discover how Plant Riverside District is spreading good tidings and holiday cheer throughout Savannah. The Savannah Christmas Market is located exclusively at Plant Riverside District, 400 W. River Street.
Christmas on the River

Celebrate the holidays along Savannah’s Waterfront during Christmas on the River! A variety of dance and musical acts will be featured on Rousakis Riverfront Plaza at the Arbor Stage. Take time to stroll and shop along the waterfront for some unique gifts available from our River Street merchants! You may even spot Santa who will be taking some time away from his busy schedule to join us on the waterfront.
The highlight of the weekend is the 31st Annual Lighted Christmas Parade. The parade begins at Plant Riverside District on the west end of River Street at 5:30 p.m. and continues to the east end, then winds its way up to Broughton Street and through City Market.

Afterwards, explore City Market for special shopping deals, music & live demos in the Art Center and pictures with Father Christmas.
- Saturday, December 6, 1-3 p.m. Sing along at open-mic Christmas karaoke in the courtyard, shop local in retail stores and artist tents for one-of-a-kind gifts, stop by for kids zone for holiday activities, and don’t miss the Pet Parade & Costume Contest featuring our city’s cutest and most creative four-legged friends decked out in their best holiday attire.
- Saturday, December 13 & 20, 1-3 p.m. Come for a merry photo at Saturdays with Santa then stay to shop small businesses, browse local art, enjoy seasonal food menus and specialty cocktails, and listen to live music in the courtyard.
- Sunday, December 14 at 1-4 p.m. Enjoy free drinks, snacks, music, and Savannah’s most beautiful art upstairs in the Art Center at City Market.
Annual Holiday Tour of Homes
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Holiday Tour of Homes. Each year, the tour opens the doors to private homes, historic inns, and cultural landmarks, offering a glimpse into the way these treasured spaces are enjoyed and celebrated today. From festive décor to thoughtful details, every stop tells its own story—brought to life by docent hosts who highlight the features, history, and traditions that make each home special.

December Nights & Holiday Lights Celebration

Millions of twinkling lights transform our beautiful botanical garden into an enchanted wonderland, covering more than five acres with nearly a mile of magically lit trails. Holiday Lights is a walking event, and tickets must be purchased in advance.
