Oatland Island Wildlife Center covers over 100 acres of maritime forest with a 2-mile nature trail walking loop featuring 5 main exhibit areas. We have more than 95 animals from 39 different species on exhibit, including mammals, fish, invertebrates, birds and reptiles. We recommend approximately two hours to see the entire wildlife center, depending on the size and ages of your group and how fast you walk. Because we create exhibits that replicate the animals’ natural habitats, some animals can be difficult to see and visitors may spend more time in observation.
Daily Operating Hours: 10 am – 4 pm. To ensure a quality visit, no vehicles are admitted after 3 pm. Guests should plan for a minimum 1-hour visit. The facility closes at 4 pm, and all vehicles must exit the property by 4:30 pm.
Adults (age 17 – 64) $5, Children (ages 4-17) $3, Seniors (age 65+) $3, Military (w/ ID) $3, Children 3 and under FREE.
Closures: Oatland Island Wildlife Center is closed for the July 4th holiday, Thanksgiving Day, December 24th, December 25th and January 1st.
Military Appreciation Days: Oatland Island Wildlife Center wants to honor those who have served, and those who currently serve in our country’s military by offering fee free days for those with a military ID or DD214. Show your ID at the booth and receive free admission on Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, July 5th, and Veteran’s Day.
