There are several ways to get to and around Downtown Savannah on St. Patrick’s Day, so be sure to plan ahead and know your options. Whether you’re looking to park your car outside of the Historic District of Savannah and take a shuttle downtown or pay for a parking space in a garage downtown, visitors have a few different options to choose from.
Chatham Area Transit (CAT)
Visitors who don’t want to park downtown can catch a ride on CAT. Busses will be running from the Westside at Westside Shopping Center (drop off at the Transit Center), Eastside at the Island Towne Centre on Whitemarsh Island (drop off at Oglethorpe Avenue & Houston Street), and Southside at the Savannah Mall (drop off at the Transit Center), to Downtown Savannah. The St. Patrick’s Day Shuttle passes cost $5 and can be purchased at the shuttle locations using debit/credit card or cash. Parking will be available at several lots and garages in Downtown Savannah, ranging from about $5 to $25 dollars on St. Patrick’s Day, with most of the garages downtown running at a rate of $20 per vehicle. Across the river there will be parking at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center for $10 per vehicle, which includes a round-trip fare on the Savannah Belles water ferry or CAT Shuttle Service. But be sure to plan ahead because the spaces are sure to fill up fast.
