22nd Annual Kiss-a-Pig Campaign Gears Up with Training Event for Contestants at Hyatt Regency Savannah
The largest diabetes awareness and fundraising campaign of the year for American Diabetes Association (ADA), Kiss-a-Pig Campaign Training Event is gearing up. The Campaign Chairman is Anne Bolyea and the Presenting Sponsor is New River Auto Mall Luxury Group, with major support from the Anne Whitton Bolyea Legacy Trust.
A contest between community leaders to raise money, Kiss-a-Pig is a regional campaign with competitors from throughout Southeast Georgia. At the end of the three month campaign, the team with the most money kisses a live pig, honored by ADA as the original source of insulin.
This year’s theme, InstaHAM, will focus on social media to promote diabetes awareness and the events organized by team members. Each team will be sponsored by one of the car brands associated with New River Auto Mall Luxury Group. New cars will be on display at events throughout the spring campaign.
On Tuesday, February 18, a training party will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Savannah for the teams competing in this year’s contest. Party-goers will meet the competition, meet Remi the pig mascot, and learn how to raise money for the mission of ADA. New River Auto Mall Luxury Group will have cars on display in front of the Hyatt.
Funds raised during the Kiss-a-Pig campaign benefit American Diabetes Association, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to curing diabetes and improving the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Diabetes is the nation’s fifth deadliest disease, killing more than 220,000 Americans each year. It is the leading cause of heart disease and stroke, adult blindness, kidney failure and non-traumatic amputations.
