Once a year, the Savannah Riverboat Cruises and Teddy Roosevelt, in conjunction with Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, take a three-hour old-fashioned paddleboat ride up the Savannah River to the Refuge lands. A delicious buffet-style lunch with many delectable options will be served as we make our way up river.
While on the boat, there will be narration of the various points of interest along the River and TR will discuss his love for the outdoors and what the Refuges mean to him. Guests can also interact with members from the Oatland Island Wildlife Center and special animal friends while cruising through the refuge lands.
Once at the Refuge lands, the Refuge staff will discuss the current Refuge management activities and answer questions associated with operations of the Refuge. This is a very special cruise that only happens once a year and is not to be missed!
The sightseeing cruise is $35.95 for adults, $23.95 for children and the lunch+sightseeing cruise is $54.95 for adults, $36.95 for children. Children ages 4 and under are free. Reservations are required and must be made in advance.
Boarding starts at noon and the cruise is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
