On Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 head over to The Big Nasty ATV Park, located at 108 Godley Rd. in Bloomingdale, for three-mile “The Great Escape” run.
You have been captured, locked up in a military prison deep behind enemies lines. They say no one can escape. As a POW, it is your job to cause trouble for the enemy however you can, and if possible escape to fight another day. The resistance was able to set up an escape route but it’s dangerous. There will be challenges to overcome and it won’t be long before the guards are chasing you through the woods. You’re partnered up, the signs are lite and the route is true. Over come the military traps, out run the guards and make it to the border. If you do, you’ll enjoy a hero’s welcome and receive a medal of honor.
The captain gives the word and under the cover of darkness the entire platoon is jumping the fence and running toward the border.
This is a three-mile race with 15 obstacles and multiple chase zones within the course. There is no timing, just escape.
You must be at least 13 years of age to participate. You and your partner must stick together the entire time. You start with four flags and will lose a flag if you fail/skip an obstacle. You will lose a flag if you get caught by a military guard. (When you are caught the guard will remove one flag from your team and you continue to race.?
This is a night run with some dark zones.Finish with no flags and sting of defeat should inspire you to come back next year. Finish with at least one team flag and receive a Survivor medal. Just 15 minutes from Savannah, Georgia with easy access from I-95.
Difficulty Rating: Mild to Difficult
Light Distance: three miles over trails
