The Savannah inaugural Park Day Celebration, “Day at the Park,” will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Jaycee Park, 30 Van Horne Ave., on Tybee Island. Sponsored by the Savannah Jaycees Foundation, this event is open to the public. Guests can indulge in BBQ, Lowcountry Boil and craft beer by Service Brewing while enjoying LIVE music from the Chuck Courtenay Band. The Savannah Jaycees will also have corn hole, kickball and soccer games going on throughout the day. Tickets are $5 and children under 12 years old are free. To purchase tickets for the event, go to savannahjaycees.com or Facebook.
Before the celebration, from 8:30-11 a.m., the Savannah Jaycees will be working with the City of Tybee to improve the Jaycee Park on Tybee Island. This includes rebuilding the horseshoe pit, repairing the trash can receptacles, re-painting the Jaycee Park sign, planting flowers in various locations and adding mulch to the playground. For more information on the service project and how to get involved, contact Mathews at (912) 253-5802 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
