Savannah Children’s Choir Annual Holiday Concert and CD Release

Join the Savannah Children’s Choir for their annual Holiday Concert.  This family-friendly concert has become a holiday tradition for Savannah families and visitors.

The concert, which takes place on Sunday, December 8 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Avenue in Savannah, also serves as the SCC’s CD Release.

The choir has recently recorded a CD of holiday music, and several of the numbers will be also featured at the holiday concert on December 8. The newly produced CDs will be for sale for the first time at this event.

“We’ve been in the holiday spirit since July,” comments Roger Moss, SCC Artistic Director.  “We introduced the music at Summer Camp so we’d be ready to record this fall, so we’re now proud to be presenting one of the best rehearsed concerts we’ve ever done!”

Recording a CD was a long-hoped for dream of the organization, and was made possible this past summer with a fully-funded Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds the necessary to pay for the project.  This crowd-source funding model allowed individuals to pledge a little or a lot toward a project, but it was only funded when the goal was reached.

“The CD – and our holiday concert – features music composed especially for us,” comments Emmy Williams, SCC Director of Education.  “We’re thrilled to present music by Eric Jones, who has worked with the choir since its inception, Marshaun Hymon, one of our talented summer camp instructors, and Eric Williams, who has also previously composed for us.”

“One of the best parts of this concert is that our children get to work with professional musicians, and we’re also looking forward to performing a number with the Savannah Arts Academy brass ensemble,” comments Cuffy Sullivan, SCC Executive Director.

The program features sacred and secular Christmas music, as well as a few numbers in honor of the Hanukkah festival.

Advanced tickets are available online at and general admission tickets are available the day of the concert.  The box office opens at 3 p.m. the day of the concert.
