February 5-18: Georgia History Festival! The Georgia History Festival is the signature K-12 educational program of the Georgia Historical Society. Held annually around the anniversary of the founding of the colony of Georgia on February 12, 1733, this commemoration brings history to life through a variety of programs and events. Events are FREE and open to the public. The Georgia History Festival Keynote Address by Dennis Blanton of James Madison University, Hernando de Soto’s Legacy in Georgia, the Coastal Georgia Center, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. Colonial Faire and Muster, February 7 and 8 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Wormsloe State Historic Site. Super Museum Sunday – February 8, noon to 4 p.m. at various sites in coastal Georgia. The Georgia Day Parade, February 18, At 10:30 a.m. along Bull Street from Forsyth Park to City Hall in Savannah. Shuman Cup Cricket Tournament, February 12, 9 a.m. Come cheer for the teams of the fifth annual colonial cricket tournament at Shuman Elementary School. Admission, Free!
