March 7: Tune in to art and music this First Friday! 6-9 p.m. The art will sing and the music will fill the air this First Friday! Local art, music, food, and culture The Starland District is making a lot of noise this month!
We are teaming up with the Savannah Stopover Music Festival to bring you a collection of band posters from this years competition at our One West Victory stop at De Soto Ave. In addition, this weekend’s March will include 13 other unique locations, including A SCAD Printmaking fundraiser, The Grand Bohemian Gallery, The Sentient Bean, Brighter Day Foods, Foxy Loxy Print Gallery and Cafe, Graveface Records and Curiosities, Fresh Exhibitions, Of Two Minds Studio, Black Orchid Tattoo, Anahata Healing Arts, Sicky Nar Nar, Maldoror’s Frame Shop, and Starland Cafe.
Get on the free Art March Trolley to be sure you see everything. The trolley will stop at all the locations every 20 minutes with the last loop at 9 p.m. starting on Desoto Ave. where we will be featuring local artists and vendors in our Indie Arts Market on De Soto Avenue! The trolley will also make one loop downtown at the end of the evening if you want to catch a ride to the Stopover concerts (passes required for concerts).
At the Indie Arts Market, shop unique handmade goods of our vendors including jewelry, candles and soaps, fashion accessories, original paintings and prints, pottery, and more! Alongside the Market you’ll find the Kid’s Activity Area where the whole family can rock out with homemade instruments and record spinning by Vinyl Appreciation.
If you’re riding through on bike, The Savannah Bicycle Campaign and SpokeModels invite you to participate in an Art March Bike Scavenger Hunt! Scavenger Hunt Teams can check in with the Bicycle Campaign on De Soto Ave where they receive the rules, challenge questions, and the map. This is a great way to explore both the city and the Art March in a fun, interactive way! The winning team will receive prizes from the Savannah Bicycle Campaign and Art Rise Savannah. The night will be capped off by the Art March After Party at the Wormhole, home of Savannah’s only “CREATIVE INDUSTRY NIGHT” (Ages 21+)! Featuring live music by Charlie and the Fox Trots, Smooth Hounds, and Fare the Gap, it’s sure to be treat for the senses. Get a stamp at the Art March Info Booth on De Soto Ave. for free admission to the after party. Enjoy special drink prices all night long for creative professionals.
