Digging Savannah Guided Hike. Spanning more than 5,000 years of history and prehistory, the park’s archaeology sites give us the opportunity to trace Skidaway Island’s past from Late Archaic Native Americans to the 20th century. The three-mile hikes will be led by AASU archaeologist Laura Seifert and starts at the Big Ferry Trail head promptly at 2 pm on February 22. The hike is recommended for kids and adults 12 years and older and is expected to be approximately 2 hours.
