It’s time to give Storm and Cloud their hair cut! The Annual Sheep to Shawl Festival will feature the shearing of Oatland Island Wildlife Center’s sheep by members of The Fiber Guild of the Savannah’s, students from Savannah Arts Academy and the Savannah College of Art and Design Fiber Department. Local musician, Joe Nelson, will play 0ld-timey music on the porch. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in many activities including carding, spinning, and weaving, as well as partake in children’s crafts and games and 1800s lifestyle demonstrations, in addition to gardening, composting and pollination talks and demonstrations.
Oatland’s “Native Animal Nature Trail” will be open, and food concessions will be available. Admission for this fundraising event is $7 for adults, $5 for children 4-17, seniors and military.
