Savannah is sprawling with antique stores, there are over 20 just in the historic district alone! But here are some must visits during your stay.
Universe Trading Company
The Universe Trading Company isn’t your grandma’s antique shop! Store owner Greg Portman recently downsized from his larger store on State Street to a smaller spot on the corner of MLK and Jones Street, but there’s still so much to see. From gorgeous antique furniture to giant statues of dinosaurs and dragons, it’s a stop that has a little something to keep everyone interested.
Most the items are larger so don’t be expecting too many little knick knack purchases here until Portman does a little more restocking. He just recently got back from a big buying trip from Sarasota, so it’s definitely a must see on your list of antique shops!
Wright Square Antiques Mall
The Wright Square Antiques Mall is the go to spot for actual wearable antique clothing and jewelry, and unique home decor. With over 30 local dealer booths, the store is diverse, very decently priced, and just an all around fun place to explore.
The collection of antiques is really eclectic and has so many shelves to look through. It’s located on 14 West State Street, and the owner also runs a blog so you can browse the new arrivals before even setting foot in the store.
Books on Bay
If your thing is antique and vintage books, you definitely must check out Books on Bay. Their books range anywhere from the 1600’s to the 1920’s, and they have it all. Science, poetry, religious texts, political texts, foreign manuscripts, first edition prints of classics, books for kids, everything! And everyone likes that old book smell! You can find the store on West Bay Street, right next to the River front.
So what are you waiting for? Get shopping!
